Pitbull Finale: A Strange Collaboration – “Bad Man,” featuring Robin Thicke, Blink-182’s Travis Barker, and Joe Perry

Mar 1, 2016

Frequent collaborator, Pitbull, joined forces with “Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry for the final number of the night, “El Taxi” and “Bad Man.” Reviews so far have been mixed; while some are calling it a thunderous show of Latin pride, others have called it a sign of “the end of the world.” The performance was, if anything, fitting for a finale. It was explosive and entertaining, despite being a little bit “out-there.”

The performance featured a surprise appearance from Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara, who gets a shout out in the song “Confesión”. The actress arrived on stage dressed as a taxi, which she subsequently removed to reveal a shimmering fringe leotard. While some have applauded Vergara’s on stage charisma and well-received dance moves, others have criticized her for embarrassing Latin women and “making a fool out of herself.” What did you think of the performance? Was it too gaudy or over the top? Was this simply the fiery-finale aesthetic they were reaching for?
